Kids Academy: "Techniques in Illustration"

Through this six-week course, students will observe and experiment with the artistic techniques of several different Caldecott winning illustrators such as Eric Carle, Leo Lionni, and Maurice Sendak. Each week students will explore a different illustrator by examining samples of their artwork in award-winning children's books. Students will discuss how each illustrator creates his or her unique art to support and enhance a story. They will then experiment with these same techniques and mediums to create illustrations of their own.

* Please Note: Due to limited space in the studio, we ask that parents do not stay for the class with their child. However, they may join us for the last 15 minutes of each class to observe the critique session at the end.
